The Aftermath - conclusion

Valentines Aftermath (The Conclusion)

It has been a very busy week, even for my usual hectic standards. I finally managed, or rather contrived, to complete my Company Law assignment. I’m not sure how I’m going to fare but let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best, shall we?

Anyway, although Valentines seemed such a long time ago, the aftermath is only now beginning to surface. Just like the tsunami which ravaged South– East Asia, the aftermath of Valentines has just begun to show the trail of despair left in its wake!

1. One of my friends (D) just conveyed to me the ‘sad’ news that she had broken up with her boyfriend. The reason I’m sad and yet happy at the same time seems to be contradictory and confusing. Alas, this seemingly peculiar feeling is easily justified. I’m sad that she broke up because I knew how much she had loved her now ex-boyfriend. However, I’ve have to say that I’m happy that she finally got rid of the bloody woman degrading jerk that she had around her (Pardon my strong tone). It’s utterly disgusting to know that such human beings even exist and she deserves so much better!

2.Another friend (V) also had a Valentines to forget. She claims that her boyfriend is becoming a little too mundane for her liking. Valentines turned to be a total let down and disappointment. Hmm….. I guess sometimes we have to learn to appreciate the gal/ guy around us to make occasions such as these for memorable!

3.The Kyoto Protocol- Let me tell you a fictitious yet interesting story. In an imaginary world so akin to ours, there is a huge country, a superpower which goes by the name of ‘A.S.S’. They are currently led by President Undergrowth. Their Secretary of State is a certain Ms. C. Nasi. For all of their history, they claim to be the liberators of their world. The defenders of peace and freedom! But, for their entire chest thumping and gloating, do they really have that much to shout about?

The Kyoto Protocol was supposed to be the beginning of salvation for their dying earth. However, country A.S.S refused to sign and comply with the agreement as they felt that it would be detrimental and hurtful to their economy. This stance was in fact conveyed by Ms. Nasi herself. BOLLOCKS!!! Hurtful to the economy, they say? Perhaps, if they do not go around nosing into other country’s business they would have a stronger economy and not a deficit. The Kyoto Protocol is an important plan to save an already ailing planet and yet, as always this country who claims to be the land of the brave and free cannot even show the courage to lead by example.

The only thing they have shown to be willing to lead is on the battlefront. They have invaded a country rich in oil by claiming that the said country possesses weapons of mass destruction. Of course, now, after invading the country and finding NO such weapons, they are left red- faced but are still defiant and believe that they are doing the right thing. Oh…for HELL’S SAKE…WAKE UP & OWN UP TO YOUR MISTAKES!

They have kept repeating many of their bad decisions in the past and yet still claim to be the ‘good people’ on the planet. ALL I have to say is….they are a bunch of delusional people who cannot accept what the rest of the planet thinks of them! (The author reserves no liability for any resemblance to any character dead or alive. Any similarities is coincidental of course!)

P/s: For all those who are planning to ditch their boyfriend/girlfriend, just remember the first time you guys fell in love. It’s the same rose that you have fallen in love with that you have by your side now. The only difference is that it’s only now that you see its thorns. But, no rose is free of these thorns. It’s your call. Don’t make the wrong decision and then flood my phone/ e-mail inbox with cry for aid/counsel!

Well written. Perhaps you could advise your friend (who just broke up with her bf) not to get into another relationship on the rebound. That kind of relationships would probably not see many happy valentine's days!
