According to Welsh tradition, when a man is interested in a woman for marriage he has to go to the woman's house to meet her father. The woman's father will then give him a piece of wood and knife. Each time he visits her at her house he must bring both items and hold them so that the woman's father can be assured that his hands are where they are suppose to be (grins). By the time they get married, the man would have carved a spoon out of the piece of wood and present it to his new wife.

Am glad you blogged about the Love Spoon. I've got one in my personal collection, given to me back in 1976; an original from North Wales, nothing less :)
wow...ur wife gave it to u?u sure have had a gr8 colourful experience.btw i thought bout writing a book jz like u.i knw it sounds far fetched, but wat do u think?
