A letter

Dear Manager,

Re: Staff Complaint.

At around lunch time on the 14th March 2006, I visited the XXX branch at George Street, Oxford to confirm my flight and accommodation bookings to Barcelona, Spain. On the day before (13/3/2006), I had also been to the same branch and had coincidentally been consulted by the same personnel, Miss Jane Doe.

2. I have been using the travel services at XXX before and have been very pleased at the good service that I have been receiving. However, the conduct of Miss Doe for these 2 days has left a very bitter experience. She was rude and had clearly shown displeasure towards myself since the first day for no apparent reason. Every time I attempted to get confirmation of some information which I was not sure of, I got snide and crude remarks in return. Her counsel was poorly veiled by obvious feelings of apathy for her job and contempt for me. As a customer, I left the XXX branch at George Street with a strong feeling of dissatisfaction and indignity for being treated with such hostility.

I’m hopeful that the company has a mechanism to deal with this complaint. I, for my part, doubt I will ever enter the XXX branch at George Street again because I believe no one should ever be on the receiving end of such utterly appalling customer service.

Yours sincerely,
Innerflame

Dear Mr Innerflame. Thank you for your letter of the 15th. Our investigations show that Miss Jane Doe was violently assaulted by her boyfriend (who then threw her out of his flat) on the afternoon of the 12th. Her supervisor advised her to take the next couple of days off, but Ms Doe insisted that duty to her company comes before self pity, and reported for work on the 13th and 14th as usual inspite of her emotional difficulties. She recognized you as being there on both days, but she said that your Brad Pitt nose, your Jet Li complexion, your Donald Trump hairstyle and your gorgeous body reminded her of that scumbag who assaulted her. It was with difficulty that she did not have an emotional breakdown when talking to you. We do hope you will understand the situation, and continue to visit us. Please accept our apologies. Thank you. Lord Dawning (chairman). PS: Our CCTV showed that you could not keep your eyes away from her cleavage, but under the circumstances we are prepared to let that slide.

Dear Manager Fishtail,

I believe that with no reason Ms. Doe should have acted as she did although I have to admit your explanation seems a little contrived. Customer service is of primary importance to a company like yours who's main income derives from the satisfaction of its customers.

Although I feel flattered with your attempts to compare my looks to Mr. Pitt and Mr. Li, I do feel a bit disturbed that my hair is likened to the (lack) hair of Mr. Trump.

On your statement/allegation that I had peered into Ms. Doe's cleavage, I find that statement/allegation defamatory. I have subsequently instructed my solicitors to work on this issue (Warren & Lau Solicitors).

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
Innerflame.

P/S: You may have to wait for the letter as I heard my solicitor is going for a cruise.
