"Dog-napped"
I just can't believe it! I never thought I could get rid of my unusual "Brittish" accent this quick. I never thought I could again learn to tolerate the unforgiving Malaysian weather and most of all I never EVER thought that I would have to deal with the fact that my friend for 10 years has been "dog-napped".
My friend has been with me since I was in Std 6. He was my shoulder to cry on. My friend who listened to all my ramblings and non-sensical flares of temper. He has a beautiful coat of black with patches of gray on his chest and paws. Where once he had endless amount of energy, he is now a shadow of his former self at the age of 10. It is fair to say, that my friend Saga is of a ripe old age.
The day he went missing, I was awake the whole night before watching football on the TV. Therefore, I managed to play with him for a few hours in the morning. It has been quite some time since we had that much fun together. It was the first time indeed that he was so adamant that he wanted to play. Usually when I asked him to return to the garden he would leave the garage and lie in the garden without hesitation. This time though he seemed so reluctant and stubborn. He remained so determined to force me to spend so much time with him playing. I spent about a good 10 minutes with him before retreating to bed making a silent promise to play with him in the evening.
When I woke up, he was gone. All I know was that he went missing. He was "dog-napped" once before until I found and rescued him. I just can't bear to believe that he should be subject to such torture again. I called the neighbourhood vet to tell him to look out for my dog at the SPCA or if he should be brought to the clinic by a different owner. It has been 3 days since he has gone missing. Each passing day means a slimmer chance of ever seeing him again. My other 2 dogs are distrought. I'm broken. IF he is indeed taken away from me forever, I hope his new owners will treat him with the love that he deserves OR not please return him to his family and his rightful home.
