Irrelevant questions
I get very confused when I’m asked irrelevant questions. Sometimes they sound outright silly and make me wonder why they are even asked at all. For example, a neighbour sees you and asks you what you are doing while you have a sponge full of soap and you’re wiping your car with it. Obviously there is only 1 answer: ‘I’m washing my car”. As if that could not be any clearer!
However, today as I’m filling my CLP application form. I’m facing another irrelevant question. The many people involved came out saying that no quota whatsoever is imposed on the CLP candidates which means there is no racial quota (which I may add is the right thing to do). But, there is question in my form which begs a serious question. It asks me of my ‘bangsa’ (race). Surely the correct answer to that question is Malaysia. Somehow I do not think that whoever reading my form will be too happy with that answer though. Doesn’t it sound strange that after saying there’s no quota and the Government’s many efforts to make and create a MALAYSIAN race, we are still forced to answer an irrelevant question?

If you put "Malaysia" under "Bangsa", make sure that form doesn't get to the stupid MB of Johor.
This is the same issue brought up again and again concerning the race of students starting even from public examinations like PMR and SPM. Well, it is just so ridiculous isn't it?
fishtail: sigh...I wish I had the guts to put that answer. But, I chose the answer that I know they want to hear from me and it certainly isn't 'Malaysia'.
NLH:What more can I say? Anything else will be deemed sensitive and off I will go wearing black stripped shirts for the rest of my life.
