Rantings of the insane
RINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
RINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
When you get the fire alarm going of every 5 minutes, you feel like you will strangle the first person that walks in your flat with the badge stating that he is an Accommodations Officer. It surely must be an infringement of some right! For god’s sake, it could drive a man into insanity. A man could have resulted to a Colombine shooting just to get the bloody bell to stop ringing.
Bah!!! CURSES
On a separate issue, it would seem that some people have commented that my posts do not reflect my ‘position’ as a law student.
Firstly, I do not think it is a position and if it is it must surely be at the bottom of society’s pile because we have not even started contributing yet! ( I think using a lot of money on our education while spurring the economy can not really be considered as a contribution especially if you are not paying your own tuition fees)
Secondly, I reckon the issue is that my posts, which sometimes does occasionally include legal ingredients, appears to lack the technicality or the ‘legalese’ language that separates a law student/practioner from the lay person. In short, I lack the legal jist!
Hmm…Well let me justify myself. My aim is NOT to be a good lawyer. That sounds strange does it not?
Let me tell you my aim….It is to be the best possible human being I can be…
I believe with that aim everything else will fall into place. If I can achieve my goal, I can be anyone I want to be NOT just a good lawyer. Besides, those who believe that lawyers are superior in anyway compared to the lay person is in for quite a shock indeed. For what is a lawyer besides being a servant for the law person in a legal arena? Exactly, it is that lay person that puts food onto a lawyer’s table not vice-versa.
One of my ‘friends’, a good law student as he is, will not pay me money for something that he asked me to buy for him just because he contends that we do not have a contract. Well, surely he is wrong, for we DO have a contract (a contract need not be in writing) although he probably knows I have problems proving it. It is THEFT. But, more than that, it is a shameful act that defiles his morality. He will keep arguing and I shall keep refraining. He can earn that money and be a good lawyer. But, that is not how I want to do things.
On the global legal perspective though, I have 2 current issues which have really vexed me into seismic proportions.
First is Sepp Blater running his mouth that the English FA should get an English coach. First of all, this is already a discriminatory remark. Mr Blatter should know better than to utter such discriminatory hints when he is actively fighting racism in sports. Well, this is also the same guy that said that women footballers should show more skin so that the women’s game get more coverage. For god’s sake imagine what that will do to the Malaysian women soccer team? Let’s not talk about showing more skin. You better not start getting to cuddly with your partner around KL or you may just end up with a fine!
I reserve my opinion and will not go any further. I’m sure you are smart enough to come to your own conclusions.
Secondly, is the fact that the ‘boys’ who killed the Aussie( I can’t use the word ‘murder’ because the court decided it was only manslaughter) were only sentenced 10 years imprisonment. Honestly, I do not feel any pity. For mitigation, the lawyer for one of the defendant actually said the boy took his SPM in jail (although he FAILED). What the hell does that got to do with killing a man? Is that really a mitigating factor? It doesn’t show remorse, it shows he is just selfishly trying to forget the horrors of his crime! Sigh…worse still the daughters of the deceased were claimed to be in court supporting their friends.
Ok…I do not know the EXACT facts of the case. No one will except GOD. But, if the boys did kill the man, it IS murder. He was slashed repeatedly more than 10 times. You could not have reasonably argued you did not mean to kill him? That argument is beyond logic! And, if the reports are true, and the deceased daughters were really there supporting their friends, I can only come to 2 conclusions:

1.Their now dead father must have been a real pain!
He is probably awakening in his grave as I’m writing this!
By the way, has anyone read Tun Mahathir’s open letter? That surely is an interesting read!
